It’s a martial arts film. No, it’s a sci-fi. Actually, it’s more like an action movie. Hang on, now it’s an animation. No wonder The New York Times’ breathless review of Everything Everywhere All at Once praised this movie as “messy and glorious…a swirl of genre anarchy”.
